Sean 'Diddy' Combs transferred out of NJ prison amid lavish lifestyle allegations

NEW YORK — Sean “Diddy” Combs has been moved out of New Jersey’s Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution amid allegations he’d been living a life of luxury behind bars.
The disgraced music mogul is now being held at FCI Allenwood, a low-security prison in Pennsylvania, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed to the New York Daily News.
NBC News was the first to report on the transfer.
“For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody, including reasons for transfer,” the spokesperson said, declining further details.
A spokesman for Combs said his team has not been provided with “any information regarding the reasons for the move and don’t want to speculate.”
“Sean remains focused on serving his time, pursuing his appeal, and maintaining contact with his family and legal team,” they told NBC.
The transfer comes just weeks after an NBC report alleged the Bad Boy Records founder had been paying to recreate his pampered lifestyle while serving time in prison. It cited four inmates — who apparently were at one point in the same unit as the Grammy-winner — including one who cooked for Combs on makeshift heating elements, serving him meals like curry chicken, pizza and empanadas.
Combs also reportedly managed to get his hands on contraband like liquor, prescription medication and a cellphone, which he used to scroll Instagram and look at illicit photos.
In response to the claims, officials at the New Jersey prison have conducted at least two raids, resulting in the confiscation of banned items, which has apparently angered some of Combs’ fellow inmates. The rapper was also placed in solitary housing pending the outcome of an investigation into the matter.
On Oct. 9, Diddy was out of the SHU and on his daily break when he was allegedly attacked by Christopher Coke, a kingpin also known as “Dudus.” He apparently lost his own contraband phone in the prison raids, and took his frustrations out on Combs, who was subsequently hospitalized with a head injury, TMZ reported.
Combs was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Midtown back in September 2024, after his ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a lawsuit, accusing him of rape as well as ongoing physical and mental abuse. And while it was settled just days later, it triggered an outpouring of similar claims and a federal sex trafficking trial in New York.
At the heart of the allegations against the 55-year-old rapper were his “freak-off” parties — elaborate, drug-fueled, days-long sex romps often involving sex workers.
Combs’ high-profile trial wrapped in July 2025, with jurors finding him not guilty on the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering that could have landed him in prison for life.
They did, however, vote to convict him of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and he was ordered to serve 50 months in prison. His release date is currently set for March 2, 2028.
