Nicki Minaj on Wednesday doubled down on her support for President Donald Trump at a summit to promote the new Trump Accounts program, where she held hands with the president and described herself as his “No. 1 fan.”

The rapper attended the event in Washington, D.C. to back one of the administration’s economic initiatives, praising Trump and addressing the backlash she’s faced for her support.

“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change,” Minaj told the crowd after Trump invited her to speak onstage.

“The hate — or what people have to say — it does not affect me at all,” she continued. “It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”

The Trinidadian singer added that she believes critics have been “bullying” the president.

“We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him,” she noted. “He has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him. Amen?”

Minaj also said she plans to pledge between $150,000 and $300,000 to support the new Trump Accounts. Created under Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the program provides savings accounts of $1,000 for every child born between 2025 and 2028. That money is then invested in the stock market by private firms, and made accessible to the child when they turn 18.

Minaj said her pledge is “the true meaning of paying it forward,” adding that if she’d had access to something similar when she was younger, “my whole life would have been different.”

While Minaj said in 2020 that she wouldn’t “jump on the Donald Trump bandwagon,” she’s now become an outspoken supporter of the president.

In November, the “Super Bass” artist made a surprise appearance at the United Nations, calling for an end to what the Trump administration has described as faith-based persecution in Nigeria — an allegation the country’s government denies.

Then in December, Minaj made an unexpected appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference, where she sat for an interview with Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

There, she described the president as “handsome and dashing.” She also said she sees both Trump and Vice President JD Vance as “one of us,” because of the way they connect with everyday Americans.

“They haven’t lost touch of the world,” Minaj said. “They’re still connected to the world and what’s happening in the world, with the younger people and older people, with the richer people and not so rich people. They have the ability to still connect and be real and make us feel proud to be American.”
